"Gite" Montbardon

Day 1- ARRIVAL; Join Montbardon at any time:
This trip will take place in the Queyras Regional park and is considered as one of the best snowshoe trip in the Alps. Only carry the rucksack you need for the day and we transport the rest to the next stop.
Join the family run "Gite le cadran solaire at any time" and meet with your France Outdoors guide for the week in the evening.
On option transfer from Turin airport.

Fontantie plateau

Day 2 - Montbardon (1550m) - Molines en Queyras (1751m)
This walk will bring you to a complete undiscovered part of the Alps with one of the most remarkable mountain pasture of the Alps, the "Fontantie" plateau.
We will then descend to Molines en Queyras for a night in the "Gite les Arolles".
Ascent: 897m     Descent: 647m     Distance: 8km

Day 3 - Molines en Queyras
Today we will set for a superb walk, as famous for ski touring as it is for snowshoeing, up "la gardiole de l'Alp" - 2786 m.
Back to the same "Gite" in the evening.
Ascent: 1049m     Descent: 1049m     Distance: 6,8km
On option: downhill skiing in Saint Veran / Molines en Queyras ski resort.

Day 4 - Molines en Queyras (1751m) - Saint Véran (2040 m)
We will start the day with an easy walk along the "Aigue Blanche" stream. As we climb up, the view will open up to a vast panorama overlooking the magnificent village of Saint Véran, the highest in Europe and real masterpiece of Alpine architecture. Stay in Saint Veran at the "Gite Les Gabelous for the night".
Ascent: 1001m     Descent: 708m     Distance: 10,4km

 

Virgin snow fields

Day 5 - Saint Véran (2040m) - Fontgillarde (1986m)
Today's walk will bring us to a real alpine winter environment with endless views of virgin snow. The north face descent from Col du Longet (2701m) to Fontgillarde is always a memorable moment of snowshoeing;
Transfer in the evening to Brunissard village for a night in the "Gite Les bons enfants".
Ascent: 735m     Descent: 784m     Distance: 10,1km

 

Around Clapeyto village

Day 6 - Brunissard (1775m)
Today we will explore the remains of the ancient village of Clapeyto. We will then continue to the Néal pass and will go back down a different way doing a superb loop walk.
Back to the "Gite Les Bons Enfants" in the evening.
Ascent: 812m     Descent: 812m     Distance: 12,8km
On option: downhill skiing or cross country skiing in Brunissard.

 

A stop for lunch

Day 7 - Brunissard (1775m)
The "Col d'Izoard is famous as a tour de France stage but is also a fantastic playground for snowshoeing. We will follow a wild itinerary along the Izoard stream up to the pass, from the view is magnificent.
Back to the "Gite Les Bons Enfants" in the evening.
Ascent: 628m     Descent: 628m     Distance: 6,5km
On option: downhill skiing or cross country skiing in Brunissard.

Day 8 - FAREWELL!
Leave Brunnisard at any time.
On option:
transfer to Turin airport.
